Why We Preach the Word of God: Part II – The Rebuke of the Word of God

There are times when the Word of God offers words of loving assurance and comfort for weary souls. There at times when believers are moved to the heights of joy and gladness when a passage reminds us of the forgiveness and acceptance we may find with God through faith in Jesus.

Then there are moments when God’s supernatural communication strikes the heart with the force of a thousand tons and the weight of His holiness is brought to bear upon our pride and rebellion.

As I continue this series entitled “Why We Preach the Bible” today’s passage is one with such crushing supernatural speech. God has graciously offered to man a plan of reconciliation and redemption. However, He has sovereignly decreed that this plan is not to be accessed by any wisdom or philosophy which finds its origin in the human heart. In this passage in 1 Corinthians the Holy Spirit thunders a rebuke to all who would elevate their intelligence or reasoning to the level of the Almighty.

May God use this video to bring the supernatural message of His salvation to those whose hearts are hardened in rebellion and indifference.
